Breaking-up Is Hard To Do!
Ok, so my last day on Facebook was on Monday....well Friday my Facebook was re-activated by a hacker. I didn't realize this until my Hubby called me asking if I was back on Facebook. I had no idea...that explains why I got all these notification from my friends on the site. I got back on changed some security things, I guess Facebook missed me and wanted me back. I thought of the good times I had and I decided to reconcile our relationship. I made it clear that I will spend less time with it and I want to start seeing other sites like my blog and twitter. Its actually nice to be back on Facebook. I missed my all my friends very much.

Life without Facebook - Day 2
Well, Day 1 was the feeling of Victory, like you beat the Machine. Now, Day 2 is the withdrawal kicking in. I missed logging on and seeing what my friends are up to. But, on the bright side I got to chat with my Best Friend Heidi and wish her a Happy Birthday. That was one of my worries, because not being on the site I couldn't write on her wall.

Life without Facebook - Day 1
Before I de-activated my profile I sent a message to my Best Friend, my Parents, my Aunts and Uncles, my In-Laws, some of my Closest Friends from way back and my ex-coworkers....gave them information on how to reach me so I'm not totally vanished from the earth. Then I clicked on the De-activate button, entered my password (I guess they wanted to make sure you are of sound mind in de-activating your profile), gave a reason why I'm de-activating for the CEO of Facebook (maybe he needs that reassurance that its you and not him on the reason why your walking away) and then I entered that code word on the screen (I swear you need the Urm and Thumum to decode it). Then, it releases you from the world of Facebook with a little note saying your account has been de-activated (then you get this sad feeling that you made the biggest mistake of your life). To make matters worse during the process they showed you pictures of your friends saying they miss you, I lost it when I saw the pictures of my Brothers and I from way back on my wedding day (I guess they want to give you one last guilt trip before you leave).
Then, my Mother-in-Law sent me a message saying that Facebook won't be the same without me, I lost it again. I called her to explain my logic to quit Facebook for a while, we joked about the good times we had on the site. I told her that we should write down all our jokes and when I comeback we can fire them at our friends and they won't know what hit them.
On my way to work I always was thinking of something clever and cute to say on my status....yeah, know it was kind of nice not thinking of a clever status. I just jammed out to my ipod...... listening to Maroon 5, Matchbox Twenty and Lady Gaga. All through out my day, my mom asked me you really quit Facebook? Then that night my Husband seemed kind of sad when I told him about my plan.
Being a "Pill Pusher" the term my Dad likes to us when describing my occupation to people..... if your addicted to something you have to find something to replace that addiction. My plan was I was going to use Twitter and Blogging more.

Is there life after Facebook????
I made a very hard decision….. Yes, I deactivated my Facebook Profile. I felt like I didn’t pay attention to my husband, neglected my house work and not giving my full attention to the people around me. Facebook is the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY. The GOOD - You get to reconnect with old classmates, the one that got away, and people from was back You can also share photos with family that you don’t see often. The BAD - The Games on Facebook, you find yourself playing those games in your hopes of getting a higher score than that guy who made you seat on the water fountain in your Sophmore……who’s the dork now, Jimmy! Then you stalk your ex-boyfriends / girlfriends page and look at all the photos the posted on the site of their wife and kids and think to yourself “They dumped me for that?...Man, he is a dork”. Come on admit it, we’ve all been there.
The UGLY - Seeing people posting bad comments about your friends. You put something on your status and then you have an anxiety attack wondering if someone will like your status, comment or get offended for stating you beliefs. Then asking the cheerleading captain and the student class president when you were in school to be your friend on facebook, talk anxiety and paranoia. One word - DRAMA.
I say find a new addiction....try knitting, a new skill, blogging, or maybe twitter (that's fun to see into Celebrities' heads) .
